KISS win inter-school tag rugby tournament

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), a city-based tribal school, emerged champions in the Inter-School Tag Rugby Tournament, which was jointly organised by Odisha Rugby Football Association and Tag Rugby Trust India here at Kalinga Stadium today.

In the hard-fought final, KISS defeated Venkateswar English Medium School 10-9. Padasahi School finished third, beating KIIT International School 10-5. Earlier in the semifinals, KISS prevailed over KIIT International School 13-7, while Venkateswar EMS got the better of Padasahi School 2-1. Hockey Olympian Dilip Tirkey gave handed over the trophy in the presence of ORFA president Priyadarshi Mishra and secretary U K Mohanty.

Altogether 12 schools participated in the one-day tournament. Other eight teams in the fray were Gandhi Public School, DAV School (Pokhariput) , Nandankanan School, Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Chandrasekharpur), Aurobinda Integral School (Khandagiri), Shri Aurobinda School (Baranga), Sai International School and Nayapalli Ashram School.
